Forest has a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Victoria with a specialization in energy systems. Devoted to sustainability and alternative energy, he has a specific interest in electric propulsion. His previous work experience includes the design, fabrication and manufacture of solar systems and a control system for rugby training machines. He spends much of his time outside of work building and creating with a passion for converting vintage vehicles to electric drive and shaping hollow wooden surfboards.
Forest also enjoys rock climbing, soccer and exploration.
