Dan has been working with composites for over 12 years building and repairing high performance lightweight human-powered race specific watercraft in Hawaii and the Pacific Northwest. He has an adept understanding of composites and uses these skills to build and repair efficient, durable watercraft. His appreciation for the environment fuels his drive to keep damaged watercraft from the landfill, bringing it back to as-new condition rather than replacing it.
Dan has an immense appreciation for nature and the ocean, he has voyaged in a traditional Hawaiian outrigger canoe crossing ocean channels in the Hawaiian islands and is an accomplished outrigger canoe paddler. In his spare time Dan enjoys paddling, surfing, cooking, and playing drums.
