Open Ocean Robotics Expands Operations to East Coast

Nov 1, 2024

We’re excited to announce the opening of our Halifax office at the Centre for Ocean Ventures & Entrepreneurship (COVE), marking a new chapter in Open Ocean Robotics’ expansion across Canada. COVE’s collaborative space brings together ocean tech innovators and provides us with the resources needed to accelerate our projects and deepen our connections in the marine tech community.

Alongside our new office, we’re also deploying three of our DataXplorer™ uncrewed surface vehicles—DX8 through 10—in Halifax. This fleet expansion enhances our capacity for data collection, supporting projects from Canada’s Atlantic coast to regions worldwide. With DataXplorers on both coasts, we can more efficiently collaborate and work on missions on the other side of the world.

As well, we’re thrilled to welcome Julia Clarke as our Technical Sales Specialist for the Halifax region. With a background in neuroscience and marine biology, Julia’s expertise and deep understanding of ocean environments will drive our East Coast operations. Julia’s leadership, combined with the presence of our DataXplorer fleet at COVE, positions us to bring valuable ocean insights to local and international stakeholders and expand our impact in ocean innovation.
